Uneaten eggs......and stuff

I'm not getting very far on my to do list.  It's supposed to be pretty crappy here tomorrow so I can spend the day inside and get a BIG laundry list of STUFF done!

I'm really missing this guy here.

And missing this.......sorry, but it's true.

She misses her Daddy more than she loves pudding.

These are still in my fridge because I don't like hard boiled eggs.

I think I'll make some deviled eggs out of them tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great relaxing weekend.  I'll be wishing I was with you.....

Rain, Rain, Rain

Ummm, I think it might be spring.

Rain, again it is raining.  We did get a nice day for Easter, a nice day for yesterday (which I had to work inside all day).  Poo!

And, now it's raining, again!

I think it might be spring in Minnesota.

My first clue..........rain.

At least we are not getting 9" in one hour.

I probably just jinxed it didn't I?  Crap, you should have warned me!  I know, I know......

You'll be glad to know that everything is falling into place nicely.  Now if one more thing (OK maybe two) could just slide nice and easy in there right where they should, everything will be magic.

MAGIC I tell you!

See you again soon!

Happy Easter

We are having a Beautiful Easter!  After almost two weeks of rain and blah, it is in the 60's and SUNNY!  Very symbolic I think.

Grandma came for a visit.  (I love it when she cleans my stove.)

We enjoyed some of the BEAUTIFUL weather!  (Grandma's  Easter Lily with Hailey.)

We had a nice Easter dinner.  Yum!

Hailey modeled her new sun glasses she got from the Easter Bunny.  Purple Barbie Bling.

Missing Mr. Lemerond.

We had a long phone call today.

Hope all of you had a wonderful Easter!

Easter weekend

Well, Easter Weekend is this weekend.  The weekend of new beginnings.  Grandma is coming over to visit.  She comes tomorrow and is picking up Hailey from daycare and hanging with her until I get home.

I had a rough day today.  I am disappointed.  I really don't get it, I don't know what else to say.

I'm sad Mark can't be here this weekend.  We'll miss him.  I miss him now, I need to talk to him and for him to give me a hug.

OK, it's a new day tomorrow, let's move on.  Nothing I can do now.

I'll report on our nice weekend.  I'm excited.  can't wait for Grandma to get here.

A "Laundry" List

It's too busy.  I have a long laundry list of things to do in the next four weeks, besides go to work and take care of my daughter.

Paint basement floor.

Paint wall in Hailey's room.

SCRUB every room in the house top to bottom. (We are selling, believe me, I wouldn't otherwise!)

Manage somehow to keep it clean.

Cook dinners.

Get the shingle fixed on the roof.  (One blew off.)

Touch up paint the outside of my house and garage.  (Including trim and soffit.)

Get old appliances hauled off next week.

Sell a few furniture items.  (Bunk bed, computer hutch, fish tank...)

Sort through loads of stuff and thin it all down (clothes, toys, papers, house stuff...)

Finish at least one VERY important quilt this week (my Mom's) so it will be ready by her birthday.

Ewww, wash my windows, don't look at my front picture window if you drive by house.

Did I mention laundry?

Sigh......

I'm gonna go read, and then go to bed.

I'll start tomorrow, honest I will.

Divorce? I don't think so......

Mark is going to Montana to work, for a while.

We have explained to Hailey that her and I will be here for a while and Dad will be in Montana for a while.  We explained that this would not last long or forever, just a little while.

We thought we had made it clear the situation, she seemed to understand.

Mark told me today Hailey asked him if we were getting divorced.

Mark asked her if she knew what divorce was.

Hailey responded that "Divorce is when I live with Mommy and you don't live with us any more."  (Insert cheeky grin.)

Mark, being the absolute diplomat he is responded, "Well what if you lived with me and Mom didn't?"

Hailey said, "No I HAVE to live with Mommy, it doesn't work the other way." (That's my girl!)

Needless to say I assured Hailey we are not getting a divorce.

We are still a happy family even though we will be temporarily separated.

Even if it doesn't look like it sometimes......

In the real world, as always...........

Pressed Steak

I just had THE WORST steak ever!

We were on a REALLY tight budget this week so I bought all my meat at Walmart, which I usually NEVER do.

A part of that purchase was two tenderloin steaks.  I have eaten A LOT of tenderloin in my life.  While I would not say I am an expert on an Emeril or Gordon Ramsy level, I do know a thing or two about steak.

Well these were disgusting.  You know how some ham isn't a "natural" ham?  It's actually like ham pieces that they press all back together and add water and ham flavoring?  Well I think Walmart does that to their steaks.

There was no grain to the meat......that made me nervous immediately.  It felt rubbery as I was cutting it.

Then I (gulp) tasted it.  It actually took all I had to choke it down.  Not only was it the ODDEST texture I have EVER encountered in a meat, but it tasted like rubber injected with bouillon cube juice.

NASTY!!!!!!

NEVER by steak, pork or hamburger at Walmart, it sucks.

I stick to turkeys and spiral hams from there.

People it doesn't get much nastier than what I had tonight.

I know we are on a budget right now, but this Montana-home-grown-cattle-ranch-beef girl will NOT suffer through another one of those again!

Note:  This is a warning, and my personal opinion.  I shop at Walmart all the time, just my experience and opinion on one product (or three).

Love you enough to warn you......

An Ear to Remember

Hailey had a tube put back in her right ear this morning.  The hospital told us to be there at 9:30.  At 9:20 I checked her in, my sister called, we talked all of five minutes and they called her back.

It was something like being in jail for two hours.  We were bored and wondering why we had to wait in a freezing room for 2 hours.

Finally they took her back, it took all of ten minutes and 45 minutes for recovery then she was back and starving!  She hadn't eaten since the night before and it was already 12:00 noon by this time.  For a girl who grows on average of 1 inch every 6 months, this is a huge issue.

She got a popsicle.  I think the expression says it all.  Although the TV was way up in that corner where she was looking.
She got the Nemo room.  To which her response was,

"Do you think Nemo's Dad will fall on my head?"
I look up on the ceiling, Nemo's Dad's head is loose and sagging down.

All is well.  She is home chilling out and eating.

Until next time.....

Blueberry pancakes

I got my Blueberry Pannnncakes!  I got my pannncakes!

Homemade blueberry pancakes with homemade maple syrup, can't beat that!!!

Mmmmmm, my mouth is watering again.

Fish on!  Oh, wait that's not a fish!

Hailey goes in tomorrow morning for one more tube.  Then home again to rest for the day to recoup and unwind.

Mark is making a quicky trip over to Montana.  He'll leave after she goes under and be back Wednesday night.

Hope you all have a great day tomorrow!

Maple Syrup in the house

YEAH!  We have homemade maple syrup in the house!  Mark finished making the homemade maple syrup today!  Yippee!  Hooray!  Uh-huh! Uh-huh!

I told Mark today I expect blueberry pancakes for breakfast tomorrow, JUST so I can have some of his homemade syrup.

Not demanding at all!  Nope, I don't think so, I've been sick after all, I deserve some blueberry pancakes.

I absolutely LOVE the homemade stuff.  It is so much better than store bought.  Not as sweet and a bit of a nutty taste, so yummy!

I'll let you know about the blueberry pancakes.........

I'm sure I'm getting some.

Goodnight!

Trials of the Easy-Bake

So the neighbors across the street moved.  They packed everything up in one week and were gone yesterday.  They didn't know where they were even going until the day before.  Flying by the seat of their pants, in more ways than one.

Sometimes I feel like that.  Flying by the seat of our pants.  Who knows what's around the corner.

They gave Hailey an Easy-Bake oven before they left.  Brand new, not even out of the box, and of course we did not have a 100 watt light bulb.  So yesterday we had to go and get one.

Last night Hailey made cake and this morning she made sugar cookies.  Now she is out of mix.  This means Mom (aka: me) will have to go to Walmart or something and replenish her stock.

She is just pleased as punch that she now has one.  Almost annoyingly so.  Maybe only annoying because I'm sick and just don't feel good, and all she wants to do is bake with her Easy-Bake.  Which Mom does need to help a little.

So Mom did breath a little prayer of thanks that she is out of mix.  Am I terrible?  I just want to curl up and sleep.  Why is it when everyone else is sick they get to go lay down and rest and sleep and stuff but when Mom is sick she still has to clean and help with this and help with that and stumble around all light headed and sleepy, trying not to blow her nose and sneeze snot balls on her loved ones.

Lovely picture, I know, but I am NOT a pretty site right now.  Just sayin'.
